It appears to me that the way the whole process has been managed is not
appropriate for an intergovernmental organisation like the United Nations
which is governed by methodological, rule-based, transparent system. For
instance, there was a deadline for nomination, which has been overlooked in
many cases and the mention of the same is revoked from the websites. This is
not an important issue at all, but if extension of deadline was necessary,
(even I have sent nominations after the deadline), a formal communication
could be issued for the benefit of all the parties.
Likewise, the representation of different stakeholders is not apparent and
forthcoming.
Nevertheless, UN-GAID will contribute a lot in meeting the goals of MDGs
through ICTs and we can contribute to this collectively.
