Hi all
Below is the announcement from Avri Doria, head of the CS Nomination
Committee of the Internet Governance Caucus processes. 15 names were
chosen by a 5 member Nomination Committee (who themselves agreed not to
stand for nomination), which were submitted to the IGF Secretariat for
consideration and final selection by the UN Sec Gen.
(THis process is by no means the only one feeding nominations to the IGF
Secretariat--anyone can nominate and I imagine many have gone directly to
the IGF Secretariiat...but because of the past work of the IGC relating to
the WGIG before, and the solidarity of the Caucus, it had agreed to
leverage its track record to put forward a list which is sure to be
strongly considered.)
The good news is that 4 from Asia Pacific are in the IGC list of 15; three
of them are members of the ASia Caucus and this list:
- ADam Peake
- Parminder Jeet Singh
- Chun Eung Hwi
(Paul Wilson from Australia is the head of APNIC; he was also formerly
part of the APC family in its early stages.)
So, I think that this is great news--except for the fact that no woman
from the region made the list...

Thanks to all who were instrumental in making the nominations,
endorsements, and making this happen.
We also commend all the brave souls above who are putting themselves in a
postion to be picked--it will be hard work if and when they make it, and
this early I hope we will all communicate to them our full support to them
should this happen.

Hi,
I am in the process of putting together the document for presenting the
candidates selected by the IGC-nomcom to the IGF secretariat. This
document will cover the criteria and process used in the
selection as well as include the biographies of the candidates being
presented. I was going to wait until this document was ready to present
the names to the IGC and CS-plenary, but it is taking me forever to get
the document completed and I do not want to delay any further.
The members of the nomcom selected the following individuals as
candidates for the IGC nomcom:
