Dear Jette
Thanks for forwarding this. We will not down these requests, and request that
you also forward any similar requests in the future.
However, this gives us a hint how complicated this business of overpasses may
play out. This is exactly the situation I am trying to avoid, where many
participants to the Summit--not a few of them not really active in PrepCom
events and civil society structures (online and face-to-face)--come forward with
requests. Believe me: I was in charge of our overpasses at the Geneva Summit,
and it was not pleasant, especially with insistent persons even going to my
hotel room at odd hours of the night. :-)
So we would like to ask the maximum allowable overpasses after taking into
consideration all active families. We will then allocate based on
geographic/country diversity, and their active participation in civil society
structures, aming others. I am copying this to our mailing list so in the end a
judicious allocation can be effected. (Maybe in the end it should be via the
drawing of lots! :-)
Seriously, as was implied in the letter below, they can also request overpasses
from the content caucuses as well.
So, we will request the maximum feasible amount that can be allotted to a
regional family. (I have noted the Gender Caucus is requesting for 35.)
Thanks
Al Alegre

Three of them are from the mainland China and the other three from Hong Kong.
And there is diversity in the composition of the delegation. They belong to
Gender Family, NGOs Family, Youth Family and Asia-Pacific Family respectively.
It will be highly appreciated if we could get at least 2 (if not possible to get
4) overpasses for Tunis Summit.
