Thank you to all of you (Reza, Partha, Parminder, etc.) for your hard work there
in the face of very difficult circumstances and lack of time and warm bodies...

Thanks to you (and to anyone else) who thought my name was worth putting into
the hat.
I know the rush...but in retrospect, it may be better to post any nominee on the
list before finalizing submissions, at the very least to see if there were any
objections/other considerations, and people may (even remotely) post these. But
as I said, I know you were under a lot of pressure, and I assume you had
discussions about this with the Asian there anyway...

In truth, I would have been reluctant to accept the nomination--firstly because
I had nominated 2 other Filipinos (Chat and Mavic) myself, adn I did not want
that too many from one country be on the list--notwithstanding my 2 nominees'
regional/global eminence, and the fact that they were strong gender advocates
who would bring a clear women's voice. I still am of the thinking that these two
should be considered ahead of me, and if there is any dillemma, you should drop
my name.

I guess this brief flurry of emails on the nominations will again drive home the
need for us to be more organized than we were, in order to have a clearer
collective voice. Hope everyone is still hopeful that this space
(communication@wsisasia.org) can still be a platform to renew our solidarities
even after PrepCom3.

To all Asians in PC3--good luck in the homestretch!

In solidarity
Al
