An additional note on the fellowships:

There is the usual headscratching now about how many
fellowship slots are really available, who will make the
decisions about this, and on what basis...Some well
intentioned people are raising this as always (Adam is
one of them), but not sure if people have the time and
energy to wage this battle again, with so little time
left...though best efforts will be exerted I guess...

The suggestion is to those who are keen to do so to just
apply before the deadline--then hope that some of these
things are resolved in the best interest of CS
participation in PrepCom3...

P.S. Am really semi-active on the CS Bureau list, but
will continue to monitor developments and pass it on to
this list...
