to convey to you that we are accepting candicacies of young people from
your list for nomination by the Youth Caucus to the CS Plenary and Interne=
t
Governance Caucus=2E By young people, we mean those aged 15-28 (though
strictly speaking, youth are individuals aged 15-24 by UN standards)=2E Fo=
r
those who are interested to submit their application, please follow the
nomination and selection process set up by the Facilitation Team=2E
I=2E Individual candicacies/nominations will be accepted by the FT via
facilitators@wsisyouth=2Eorg until Sept=2E 19=2E Please note that the subm=
ission
of Caucus/Working Group nomination statements for consideration of the WSI=
S
CS Plenary and IG Caucus is on Sept=2E 20, the opening day of the 1st WGIG=
open consultation=2E
The FT aims to nominate two (2) names of young people for consideration by=
the CS Plenary and IG Caucus=2E Ideally, one nomination should come from
developing countries, the other from developed countries=2E Likewise, the =
YC
nominations will be gender balanced (ie=2E one male, one female)=2E
For those interested and qualified to be considered for selection by the

ON IG WITH OTHER FACTORS (ie=2E openness to learn, involvement in YC and W=

II=2E The FT will lead the selection process, with the possibility of seek=
ing
external advice=2E Please note that the FT reserves the right (1) not to
submit any nomination; (2) to submit only one (1) nominee; (3) to submit
two (2) nominees coming from the same country, region and gender; and (4)
to submit nominations with a note that they be not put into the CS priorit=
y
list=2E The FT has decided, for the purpose of wide selection, to accept
youth nominees from other Caucuses/Working Groups provided that they
represent the collective stand/proposals of the Youth Caucus=2E The FT wil=
l
assess the nominations received with utmost objectivity and impartiality,
putting emphasis on core competencies and ability to meaningfully
contribute to the work required by the WGIG=2E If in any case the FT decid=
es
not to submit any nomination(s), it will strongly lobby the WGIG
Secretariat to include young people in its meetings and consultation
process, both online and physical=2E
The decision of the FT will be final and made known to the YC and other CS=
lists, and forwarded to the WSIS CS Plenary and IG Caucus, on Sept 20,
2004=2E=20
Please note the following in submitting your nominations:
1=2E It is expected that the number of CS representatives would vary betwe=
en
5 and 7, with the entire membership of the WGIG varying from 20 to 25=2E=20=
2=2E CS aims to shortlist 20 or so names from all Caucuses/Working Groups

3=2E This list will be sent to the UN Sec=2E Gen, who will make the final
decision, with the possibility of selecting people outside the CS list=2E
