Hello all
Thank you Izumi for your offer to represent the region in the WSIS
CSBureau...
As no one else has come forward on this, and time is ticking (the PrepCom in
Hamamet will start in a few days) and Izumi has been very active since
PrepCom1 both in the Asia Caucus and in some of the working groups (like
Internet governance), I would like to nominate him for the fellowship and to
be the interim regional representative to the CSB...infinitely better than
having no rep. I can vouch for Izumi as hardworking, efficient, and
protective of civil society's interest, especially those of Asian CSOs.
We would just request that Izumi keep us abreast of what is happening in
Tunisia, through reports (daily if possible) and to immediately consult any
strategic decisions to all of us on this list.
I hope all other Asians coming to Tunisia will please inform this list
(e.g., I am aware of Mavic of Isis is going also), and will make efforts to
coordinate with each other and Izumi.
Thanks
Al Alegre
