We have re-launched Digital Opportunity Channel (www.digitalopportunity.org)
with several new features such as full content search options, thematic and
regional pages and special focus sections. The new site has launched with
two special sections: a special coverage on information society and the WSIS
(the World Summit on the Information Society) and a set of ICT case studies
from South Asia, Latin America and Africa. More such special sections are
going to be created in the near future.
Please subscribe to our weekly newsletter to keep updated about the best
practices in ICT applications for development. In order to receive our
newsletter, you are required to join Digital Opportunity Channel as a
member. Membership is free and as a member you can choose to receive weekly
email newsletters not only from Digital Opportunity Channel but from other
OneWorld sites too, containing the latest news and other content on issues
that matter to you.
Below you will find step-by-step instruction as to how you can register to
be a member of Digital Opportunity Channel and OneWorld, and how you can
subscribe to our newsletter(s).

HOW TO JOIN DIGITAL OPPORTUNITY CHANNEL AS A MEMBER & SUBSCRIBE TO
NEWSLETTER
IF YOU ARE A MEMBER OF ONEWORLD
If you have already registered as a member of OneWorld or any of its sites,
then you do not need to register again. You can use your existing nickname
and password to log in to Digital Opportunity Channel and opt in to receive
this and other OneWorld digests. Please follow these steps to sign up for
our newsletters:
1.Log in to Digital Opportunity Channel by entering your OneWorld nickname
and password in the new 'Login' box on the channel site.
2.On logging in, you will see two new links at the bottom of the 'Login'
box - 'Change my profile' and 'My email digests'. Click on 'My email
digests' link. (You can use the 'Change my profile' link to edit your
profile with us.)
3.This will lead you to the 'Sign up for email digests' page, which lists
all the email digests available from the OneWorld sites. Click on the
'Digital Opportunity Channel' link.
4.The next page will display the details of the email digest from Digital
Opportunity Channel. Check the 'Subscribe' box on the right and click 'ok'
button.
5.On successful subscription, you'll see a confirmation message. You can
subscribe to other OneWorld digest by returning to their list. To return to
the digests' list, click on the 'here' button at the bottom of the page.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to subscribe to other email digests.

If you have not yet registered as a member of OneWorld, please join using

1.Choose a nickname (username) and a password for yourself. You will be
required to provide us your email address too. You also have the option of
providing us some basic information about yourself such as name, country,
language, work and areas of interest, which will help us to customise our
content as per your need.
2.Check the 'I agree to the terms and conditions of OneWorld membership' box
and submit the form by clicking on the OK button.
3.You will see a confirmation message on successful registration. You can
then sign up for our newsletter (as well as newsletters from other OneWorld
sites) by clicking on the 'Sign up here' link.
4.The next page displays a list of email newsletters originating from the
OneWorld.net site. To access the list of digests from Digital Opportunity
Channel and other sites, click on the 'here' link just above the list of
newsletters.
5.This will lead you to the 'Sign up for email digests' page, which lists
all the email digests available from the OneWorld sites. Click on 'Digital
Opportunity Channel' link.
6.The next page will display the details of the email digest from Digital
Opportunity Channel. Check the 'Subscribe' box on the right and click 'ok'
button.
7.On successful subscription, you'll see a confirmation message. You can
subscribe to other OneWorld digest by returning to their list. To return to
the digests' list, click on the 'here' button at the bottom of the page.
Repeat Steps 5 and 6 to subscribe to other email digests.
If you are registering with OneWorld for the first time, you will receive a
mail from OneWorld with details of your nickname and password. Use your
nickname and password to log in to Digital Opportunity Channel whenever you
visit. If you wish to change your membership details at any time, please go
