  18 July 2003

  Dear Friends,

The Paris intersessional finished this afternoon with a new draft =
Declaration and a report on the meetings on the Plan of Action. =
Governments met this morning (18 July) on the Plan of Action, receiving =
general comments on the whole document. The chair produced a report on =
the discussion on the plan of action at this point, including a list of =
"feasible actions" which some governments have requested [DT-7]. A new =
version of the Draft Declaration of Principles was released in the =
afternoon [DT-4 (rev.3)]. A new version of the Action Plan will be =
released on the web on 23 August.=20

Civil society reports on all the official intersessional sessions are =
available at http://www.prepcom.net/wsis. In addition, please find =
numerous reports, statements and proposals from civil society. We will =
continue to update prepcom.net/wsis with documents over the next weeks, =
so keep sending us your papers and proposals.

We'll be back in September for the third and final WSIS PrepCom.

  In Peace,

  Rik Panganiban
