Dear members of the Bureau,

Please find some updates and = latest=20 news:

CS Bureau actions in = relation to=20 Summit Events

A complete list of Summit events proposed will = be=20 submitted to the CS Bureau on 25 May.  At the same time, the CS = Bureau will=20 be provided with all information on Summit facilities available on the = Summit=20 premises (Palexpo).

As a first step, the CS Bureau will = have to=20 develop criteria for selecting the feasible projects, depending on the = relevance=20 of the requests received.  Secondly, the Bureau will examine the=20 compatibility between the proposed events and the available Summit space = and=20 facilities.  In order to speed up the process, it would be = advisable to=20 already think about what sets of criteria could be used for selecting = the most=20 appropriate projects.

Depending on available resources, a = number=20 of Summit events will be eligible for funding under the Civil Society = Facility=20 Fund.  Other events should be entirely financed by their own = organizing=20 entities.

The CS Bureau recommendations on Summit events = relevance and=20 compatibility with the Summit premises will be transmitted to the Summit = Events=20 Steering Committee (Executive Secretariat, Swiss Secretariat and Canton = of=20 Geneva).  The final decision will be taken by the Steering=20 Committee.

Next CS Bureau Meeting

The next meeting = of the=20 CS Bureau will be held during the Paris Inter-sessional Meeting (15-18 = July=20 2003).  The meeting Agenda will be transmitted to the CS Bureau = members=20 during the week of 19 May.

The CS Bureau members are = kindly=20 requested to post their suggestions on the items they wish to include in = the=20 meeting Agenda on the bureau@geneva2003.org = list.  Also,=20 please inform us of your availability to travel to Paris and attend this = meeting.
