For the "P2 contingent"--particularly those arriving for the first week:

May I suggest that we do get together during lunch on the first day. Lets
leave the morning to find each other in the opening session. If I remember
correctly, there is a canteen at the mezzanine of the CICG (ist day venue)
which serves cheap food. Lets meet there, 1230? (Am particularly asking the
Youth Caucus contingent if they are free since they are the most numerous--6
of the 14 I listed as going are from the Youth Caucus.)

We do have to get organized to talk about:

(What follows is a proposed agenda; feel free to add, subtract, multiply and
divide...)

1. Pending business from Tokyo:
- TY letter to Samassekou (as per Sacha's reminder of a suggestion from last
December)
- Tokyo Declaration: ensuring it gets in somehow to the official documents
- (what else?)

2. Info and Outreach work:
- Asia Pacific "packet" (as per Adam's suggestion): production and
distribution strategy;
- On site reports: the suggestion is for a daily report to this list (and
others) > who shall do it?
- other plans and activities

3. Coordinating Spaces and Times:
- Coordinating meetings/caucuses of Asian CSO Caucus/AP NGO CCW during week
one
- coordination of these with schedules of other caucuses/meetings (e.g,
Gender, Youth, CRIS, civil society "family meetings", etc.) to prevent
overlap and optimize participation
- logistics: communication system

4. Coordinating Structure/s
- time for a more formal nomination of a (new) "coordinator/convenor/chair"
and/or Steering Committee (hopefully with reps from the sectoral caucuses
and with some geographical diversity)
- "Distance Participation"*: mailing list consultations (need for someone
offsite to be a facilitator of this when "decisions" have to be validated)
- Asian participation in the global CS structures

5. Initial discussion on PrepCom2 issues (SUBSTANCE, finally!):
==================================================
- Civil Society Bureau: concept and operations; representation of Asians
- Samassekou's non-paper: content and themes/action plan
- Lobbying work: Sub-Comm2, National delegations, CS Directorate/Exec
Secretariat, etc.

Again, please feel free to add issues you feel are important. Let us all
draw on our collective experiences from Geneva (P1) to Bangkok to Tokyo, and
learn from them. Notwithstanding Susanna's recent post on the limits and
possibilities of finding unity in diversity, let us not lose sight of the
strategic objectives we had when we engaged WSIS, and ACT accordingly while
we can...

Hoping for your prayers in support of those in Geneva

Al
