Hi, A Happy New Year!!

Now, I like to confirm that the Panel on Jan 13, Monday be organized by 'us',
AP NGO CCW.

So far we have the following outline.

We need to decide the panel members from

and Rapporteur

So, if you are involved as the organizer of the side event, please
make the decision as soon as possible, say by Jan 5th and get back
to me.

As for government discussant and rappoteur, we are trying
to contact potential candidates, but if you have any good
recommendation, please let us know as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Panel Discussion VI
Date/Time: Monday, 13 December 2003, 16:30 - 18:30
Session Title: "Towards more inclusive Information Society: Asian
perspectives"

Abstract of the session
At this panel, we would like to examine the critical challenges our NGO and
civil
society actors in Asia and Pacific are facing in relation to the rapid
diffusion of ICT
on the one hand, and the lack or insufficient penetration of infrastructure
and other
resources to fully enjoy its benefit. We will bring key stakeholders from
NGO and
civil society by inviting the main speakers from the thematic Side Events
preceding
the Main conference: Gender, Youth, Pacific Islands, ICT for Development,
Communications rights, and Defining Information Society.

By doing so we will find common path to build more inclusive Information
Society in
Asia Pacific context. We will also invite discussants from government and
private
sector for a constructive multi-stakeholder dialogue.
